Upgrading from AlarmTraq version 5.1 to
version 5.2
This procedure will update your copy of AlarmTraq to version 5.2. You must be running
AlarmTraq version 5.1.300 or higher to upgrade to 5.2
Step 1: Backup your AlarmTraq.mdb file to a safe location (desktop
or temporary directory).
Step 2: Un-install AlarmTraq using Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs.
Step 3:
Delete or Rename the existing
AlarmTraq folder 'C:\Program Files\AlarmTraq'. **This step is vital
Step 4:
From
the Support Site,
download the version 5.2 of "AlarmTraq.zip". Follow the instructions for a new installation
of AlarmTraq detailed in the Installation page
then
continue to step 5.
Step 5: Start AlarmTraq by clicking
the shortcut on your desktop. The system will start using the default database (you
will copy back your working database in the next step). If the application appears
to be running successfully then shut-down AlarmTraq.
Step 6: With AlarmTraq
NOT running, copy the previously backed up AlarmTraq.mdb
database file to the C:\Program Files\AlarmTraq\ folder
overwriting the existing file.
Step 7: Start AlarmTraq again
by clicking the shortcut on your desktop. You may receive a message that AlarmTraq
needs to update your database, Click OK.
Step 8: Once AlarmTraq has been opened, Click on Database > Verify/Upgrade Database.

Step 9:
Make
sure all the tables are up to date and show OK
then click Close.
