Upgrading from AlarmTraq version 5.0 to version 5.1

This procedure will update your existing AlarmTraq.mdb database file to work with version 5.1

Step 1: Backup your AlarmTraq.mdb file to a safe location (desktop or temporary directory).

Step 2: Un-install AlarmTraq using Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

Step 3: Delete or Rename the existing AlarmTraq folder 'C:\Program Files\AlarmTraq'. **This step is vital

Step 4: From the Support Site, download the "AlarmTraq.zip". Follow the instructions for a new installation of AlarmTraq detailed in the Installation page then continue to step 5.

Step 5: After the installation is completed, start the system by double clicking the AlarmTraq shortcut on your desktop. AlarmTraq will start with the default database active. The next steps will move your alarm records and site-profiles from your previously backed up AlarmTraq.mdb file to the new 5.1 database.

Step 6: Once AlarmTraq has been opened, Click on Database > Verify/Upgrade Database.

 



Step 7: From the Database Verify window, click on Tools > Upgrade 5.0 database.

 



Step 8: Click the Find button and select your previously back up copy of the AlarmTraq.mdb 5.0 database.

 

Step 9: Click the Upgrade Now button to move the tables from the 5.0 database to the new 5.1 database. After upgrade is completed AlarmTraq will restart using the upgraded database.

 


Step 10: Restart AlarmTraq and click on the Database> Verify/Upgrade Database.

 

 


Step 11: Make sure all the tables are up to date and show OK then click Close.

 


Step 12: Click on the Database> Maintenance Object Database. Verify your Maintenance Object table contains at least 500 records then click on Tools>Update alarms with new Maint Objects.



Step 13: When complete click OK to close the dialog box.

Step 14: Your database is now configured to work with version 5.1. Test AlarmTraq for normal operation.
